The All India Hair & Beauty Association (AIHBA) has made significant strides in advancing the hair and beauty industry in India. Through partnerships, competitions, and talent development, AIHBA has created a lasting impact on professionals across the country and globally.
Partnerships and Affiliations
AIHBA has collaborated with several leading organizations, including the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (SSC), OMC (the world's largest association for hairdressers and estheticians), and the Institute of Hairdressers and Beauticians (IHB). These collaborations have strengthened AIHBA’s ability to deliver top-tier education and certifications, as well as create career opportunities for members.
AIHBA has achieved global recognition by securing the Guinness Book of World Records twice for its outstanding contributions to the hair and beauty industry. The first record was set for the most heads braided in one hour, showcasing the incredible speed and skill of AIHBA’s talented professionals. AIHBA set its second world record by organizing an event where over 1,500 makeup artists simultaneously performed makeup applications, marking the largest gathering of makeup artists working at one time.

AIHBA’s annual awards have grown exponentially:
- 2013: 4 categories, 70+ competitors
- 2014: 9 categories, 150+ competitors
- 2015: 12 categories, 270+ competitors
- 2016: 17 categories, expanded to a two-day event
These awards are a prestigious platform for Indian professionals to gain recognition, with winners often going on to represent India in international competitions.
One of AIHBA’s proudest moments came when Mr. Pradeep Ved, winner of the Youth Talent category at the AIHBA India Awards 2014, represented India at WorldSkills 2015 in São Paulo. Competing among 32 nations, Pradeep won a medallion, with his training and travel fully sponsored by NSDC.
World Skills Achievements
Miss Super Model Worldwide
The Miss Super Model Worldwide competition works with the All India Hair & Beauty Association (AIHBA) to make this event truly special. AIHBA provides expert hair, makeup, and styling services to all the contestants, helping them look their best during the competition. This partnership brings together the worlds of fashion and beauty, showcasing the skills of India’s top beauty professionals.
Contestants not only compete for the title but also benefit from AIHBA’s grooming and beauty support, ensuring they shine on the global stage. This collaboration sets a new standard of excellence for international modeling events, combining fashion and beauty in one grand competition.
Launch of UGC-Approved Degree Programs
AIHBA has successfully partnered with prestigious educational institution, Medhavi Skills University (MSU) to introduce UGC-approved degree programs, such as the B.Voc in Aesthetics & Skin Care, B.Voc in Hair Cosmetology, and B.A. in Makeup Artistry. These programs align with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP2020) and offer students structured, high-quality education with multiple entry and exit points, preparing them for successful careers in the beauty and wellness industry.
