Job Description:

Incumbent is responsible for assisting the San Felipe Business Office program with a host of business office related functions to include general office administrative/clerical duties and assist with specific functions to Business Office Manager, Lead Billing Specialist, Accounts Receivable and Patient Benefits.

In addition to general clerical duties, incumbent will be dedicated to performing Dental data entry-related functions.

Duties:

  • Assists Business Office Manager with all Payment Entry and Financial Coding Entry on Electronic Transfer Payments as well as Pharmacy claims payments on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure appropriate handling of Protected Health Information for the provision and payment of healthcare.
  • Complete summaries and transmit requested additional dental information to Insurance Payers for all claims on pending status.
  • Assists Lead Billing Specialist with assigned billing duties.
  • Assists Accounts Receivable Specialist with Credentialing of Providers.
  • Assists Patient Benefits Specialist with insurance eligibility and transferring billing information onto encounter forms from billing software as needed.
  • Filing all claims associated billing and payments functions
  • Responsible for ordering office supplies and billing forms for all Billing Staff along with other office/clerical duties.
  • Work and help with other duties as assigned.

Dental Program Data Specific Duties:

  • Enters Dental Data Entry Diagnosis coding into Resource Patient Management System (RPMS) on all Dental claim visits on a daily basis.
  • Ensure all Dental visits from Dentrix are entered into the RPMS.

Additional Responsibilities:Responsible for putting together any outreach events for Billing Office Staff. Must be able to attend any Billing Trainings.

Qualifications:

Education:HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience/Basic Knowledge:

  • Experience using the Resource Patient Management System Software (RPMS), EMR Bear Software and Dental Dentrix Software.
  • Strong understanding and compliance of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (1996)
  • Experience with data entry into medical billing software.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Currently possess, or within one month of hire, obtain, Information Systems Security Awareness Certificate Training in order to utilize the Resource Patient Management System software.
  • Certification, experience or training on medical third-party billing preferred.

Physical Requirements:Must have manual dexterity to enter and retrieve data from a computer. Ability to sit and stand for long periods. Bends and stoops regularly.

Preferences:San Felipe Preference and Veterans Preference.

Working Conditions:

Works in office. Sits for long periods of time. Bending, walking, picking up and transferring files over 25 lbs.
