Responsibilities Provide real-time Portuguese English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and immigration proceedings. Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and confidentiality. Adhere to USCIS/DHS compliance and professional standards. Manage scheduled assignments as well as urgent/surge requests. Participate in required training, compliance refreshers, and QA audits. Qualifications Native or near-native fluency in Portuguese (Brazilian or European) and English. 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, government, or medical preferred). Familiarity with interpreter ethics and confidentiality standards (NCIHC, ATA, RID). Strong telephone communication and cultural competency skills. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 security clearance. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay: $25–30/hour. Remote work with secure USCIS-approved systems.
