Job Description

Oxford Solutions is hiring a Staff Accountant for an onsite, contract-to-hire opportunity supporting a CPA firm environment. This role is ideal for an early-career accountant looking to grow within public accounting, though candidates with additional experience will also be considered. The position offers exposure to a variety of clients and accounting functions, with compensation aligned to experience level.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, including trial balances, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Prepare tax returns for business, nonprofit, and individual clients
• Support sales, payroll, and payroll tax filings
• Work with accounting and tax software to ensure accurate and timely reporting
• Collaborate with senior accountants and partners on client deliverables
• Maintain organized documentation and support audit or client inquiries as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1-3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience is a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks
• Familiarity with after-tax payroll processing and tax software
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
• Motivated, dependable, and eager to learn in a professional services environment
