Position Overview

Green Bay Packaging, Inc. (GBP) is seeking a Purchasing & Materials Management Intern to assist with mill procurement and storeroom operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase order acknowledgements
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and develop ordering strategies through placement of product orders
• Resolve internal customer and supplier disputes
• Reconcile receiving and invoice discrepancies
• Build strong vendor relationships through effective communication
• Assist with physical inventory
• Participate in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations and Purchasing meetings
• Participate/lead meetings with vendors and internal stakeholders
• Assist with other purchasing initiatives as required

Qualifications

• Student working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
• Proficient in MS Office Suite of products, especially Excel and Word
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working independently and efficiently
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize
• Ability to work part-time during the school semester and full time during the summer months

Compensation & Benefits

In addition to a competitive wage, the selected candidate will gain supply chain experience in a manufacturing operation. Interns will also have the option to participate in our internship program allowing an opportunity to network with other local interns and tour other GBP facilities. Interns will also have access to a free onsite fitness center.
