Description:

Client Solution Architects (CSA) is currently seeking a Network Engineer – Data Ceter to support a program at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA.

For nearly 50 years, CSA has delivered integrated technology and operational support services to meet the defense and federal sector's most complex enterprise needs. Working from operations centers and shipyards to training sites and program offices, CSA deploys experienced teams, innovative tools and proven processes to advance federal missions.

This position is contingent upon award.

How Role will make an impact:

Network Design, Configuration, and Troubleshooting:

  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and monitor network systems, hardware, and software applications.
  • Work with switches, routers, firewalls, data center technologies, routing protocols, and network appliances.

Security Compliance and Incident Response:

  • Implement DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure compliance of network components.
  • Evaluate and respond to network incidents, perform root cause analysis, and execute corrective actions.
  • Support approved change management processes.

Data Center Technologies:

  • Implement and manage data center technologies, including network, compute, storage, automation, and security.
  • Collaborate with Windows, Unix, and other server administrators to design solutions, address requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement changes.
  • Utilize Cisco's data center solutions, including Nexus, UCS, ACI, and Fibre Channel.

Security and Event Management:

  • Review and analyze security information and event management (SIEM) tools to identify and resolve network events.
  • Implement and manage security protocols and policies within enterprise networks.

Advanced Networking and SDN Technologies:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in advanced routing protocols such as EIGRP and OSPF, as well as switching technologies.
  • Plan, design, and implement local and wide-area enterprise networks.
  • Understand and implement Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies like SD-Access and SD-WAN.

Collaboration with DoD Teams:

  • Work with Department of Defense teams to support project objectives.
  • Contribute to the execution of project or task plans and assist in assessing and resolving events and issues.

Hardware and Software Expertise:

  • Hardware: Cisco Nexus series (7000/9000), Cisco Catalyst series switches, Cisco routers (4551, 8500).
  • Software: SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA), Splunk.
Requirements:

What you’ll need to have to join our award-winning team:

  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret Clearance
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated knowledge and experience in Cisco networks and data center environments.
  • Proven expertise in implementing and managing enterprise network systems and technologies.
  • Active Security+ CE or higher certification.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification with Enterprise Core or Data Center specialty.
  • Proficiency in advanced routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF) and switching technologies.
  • Experience with SDN technologies (SD-Access, SD-WAN).
  • Strong understanding of Cisco's data center solutions (Nexus, UCS, ACI, Fibre Channel).
  • Experience with SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA), and Splunk.
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs and DoD security standards.
